THE 2015 November 7th Skate/Bike Event was the first race we have ever done, and it turned out quite nice. Most people did a leisure skate and stopped at places to eat or drink. We had 3 winners in the 33.5 miles event: Haley Betts, John Jerome and Doris Casabona; The 3 winners for the 23 miles placement were: Dustin Carter, Dee Turner and Jeff Bigham. The weather was hot and the pavement rather worn but everyone said they had fun even though we all looked dead at the end. Everyone received finishers medals but the winners had a special medal and cash prizes. Dee and Jeff donated their winnings to next years’ event! Later we had had brunch at Widow Browns’ Restaurant with 38 people. Thank you everyone.
