HOW TO GET ROLLING

* Cost:  With so many companies jumping into the skate industry, the market is flooded with a hugh variety of styles and brands -- a perfect time for a beginner to purchase a pair.  Expect to spend about $125 - $150 for skates and $50 - $100 for protective gear, including a helmet.

* Groups:  For various group skate sites and times, check out http://www.skatetampa.com on the Internet.  The official Web site of the Tampa Bay Road Rollers provides links to several other local groups.  Or call "The Breeze" at (813) 855-7120 or Mike Martin at (813) 961-2740.

* Lessons:  Beginners and intermediate sessions are held weekly at Bill Jackson's Shop for Adventure, and private instruction is also available.  Call (727) 576-7579 for details.
