WHAT IS IT? A fabulous social skate designed to make new
friends, exercise, and see the critters at night as we skate through
Flatwoods Wilderness Park. Come out and join us as we roll together under the moon and stars.
WHERE IS IT?
Located northeast of the city of Tampa, this Hillsborough County Park was
set aside for Biking, Skating, and Hiking. It is comprised of 2
entrance 'driveways' leading to a 7 mile loop. The Full Moon Skate
will meet at the Fletcher Avenue entrance only. Picnic benches and
restrooms are available. You may want to bring some insect repellent.
FOR YOUR SAFETY: Helmets are Mandatory. Personal
identification lights, like the blinking lights for bikes, is strongly
recommended for collision avoidance!!! Participants must be at least
18 years of age, and everyone is responsible for
themselves and will be required to sign a
waiver at the entrance. Please donate $3 to defray our costs for renting the park at night.
Enough said... Come out and let's all have a great time!
Remember...
This is
not a Newbie skate. If you cannot skate 9 miles and be proficient at
braking, please practice (or take a lesson) until you can, and then join
us. Again, it's for your own safety!
Release of Liability: Skating
is a hazardous sport, especially at night. Please be careful for
obstructions, changing conditions, and other people. The participant
agrees to assume all risks of personal injury to themselves and others
and/or damage to property which may result from skating, which includes
the use of any of the facilities. This is a not-for-profit Club and
a Hillsborough County Park. You understand that: You will
skate at your own risk, this is no liability insurance provided by the
organizers, if ambulatory assistance is necessary it will come to your
expense, and that there is no one person here to sue.
Admission to this park is a privilege and may be revoked by management or its
agents for misconduct or nuisance caused by the participant. Please
skate responsibility and enjoy yourself!
