Washington Area Roadskaters (WAR) would like to invite you to Washington for our 3rd Annual Memorial Day Weekend.

We have reserved a block of fifty (50) rooms. The price is $122/night (plus 14.5% room tax) arriving Friday 5/28, leaving Monday 5/31. Check-in is at 3:00 and check-out is at noon.
The rooms are more expensive than last year because the National World War II Memorial will be dedicated during the same weekend. So, any room worth staying in will be filled.
Rooms must be reserved with a valid credit card by MAY 10, 2004. You may make reservations by calling 202-289-5959 and pressing "4" on the menu for the front desk. Give the block code B254B00097.
Skating Events (Tentative)
---------------
Friday 5/28: Join us for our regularly schedule Friday skate at 7:00 pm, which is a relaxed-pace skate around the mall/monuments. We will return to the Channel Inn at the Red Roof for drinks. There will likely be specials for folks with our event wristband.
Saturday 5/29: Two (2) City skates, one in the morning and one in the evening. Dinner at a local restaurant, probably pizza.
Sunday 5/30: Two (2) city skates, one in the morning and one in the evening, with likely dinner at Tony Cheng's Mongolian BBQ near the hotel. Afterwords, we will likely go to RFD for specials on outstanding beers of the world.
Monday 5/31: A light breakfast skate and farewell.
Skate level: All skates are intermediate-level or harder. Washington is not a flat city and this is not a beginner-skate weekend. We will have members of Skate Patrol assisting our skate leaders, but we will have no police escorts, no sag wagons, and no water trucks.
